Shipping on invoices FAQ
How shipping charges work alongside tax, discounts, and cross-border sales.
- Is shipping taxable?
- It depends on your jurisdiction and what you sell. Some places tax delivery fees; others do not. Set your tax percentage to match guidance from your advisor—shipping is often modeled as a separate line so you can apply the correct treatment.
- Can I combine flat-rate and per-invoice shipping?
- Yes. Use a system default for most invoices and override on specific invoices when a job needs courier or freight surcharges.
- How do I invoice international shipping?
- Add a line that reflects the carrier quote or your policy. Currency and customs are separate from the shipping line—describe charges clearly for your customer.
- What if shipping is free?
- Set shipping to zero or omit the line depending on your template. Free-shipping promotions are easier to explain when the invoice explicitly shows $0 shipping.
- Do you integrate with carrier APIs for weight-based rates?
- The feature focuses on clear invoice presentation: you enter the amount to bill. Deep carrier integrations may come later; today you copy rates from your shipping tool or spreadsheet.
- How are return shipping labels handled?
- Track them like any other cost—add an adjustment line or a negative line if you credit shipping. Your returns policy should match how you label those credits.
Seamless Integration
Shipping costs are calculated into the final invoice total and tax calculations automatically.
